Done and Done
The shawl is DONE!
I finished it 2 weeks ago but didn't want to blog about it until I gave it to Jen. I must say I'm very happy with the end result. This was my first lace project - first time reading a lace chart, the Shetland Triangle was a good starting project.
I can't believe Jen and Sam are getting married this Friday, time sure does fly. I'm soooo excited for the wedding!
I have a few more photos of the shawl on my Flickr acct, if anyone is interested.
Also, no destashing - I had nothing anyone would have wanted.
Till next time!

Home Stretch
I'm happy to say that all I have to finish on Jen's Wedding Shawl is the edging chart then wash and blocking. It's safe to say that it will be drying by this weekend!!
I have never blocked a shawl before so i hope it lays out perfectly and looks good after it's dried - I might flip out if it doesn't.
Other than that i have some yarn I might sell - I don't think i have anything worth while but ill go through my stash and post pics here first.
Pictures of FO and Destashing should be up next weekend/week.
Till then!

Shawl.....
So I'm making a shawl for my friend Jen's wedding, for her not for me. Unfortunately i don't think it will be ready by the shower, but will definitely be ready before the wedding. I originally started a different one but was unhappy with it - it was going to be really big and i didn't want that. (also someone spilled something on it - so i guess it was for the better)
I started a new one that i absolutely love!
Here is a little peek:
I'm keeping this one in a Knit Pouch so no one can spill shit on it.
I'm a little disappointed it wont be ready for the shower but at least i know it will be finished.
Hopefully there will a FO post for this soon!

Good times
So last Saturday Lelah and I took a trip into Montclair and went to Modern Yarn. I had a great time and bought some new yarn. Modern Yarn is a great yarn store and i didn't get a weird vibe like i do from some other yarn stores I've been to, it was just a nice place.
I got a skein of Malabrigo Merino Worsted
I'm thinking about making a hat with the Malabrigo, not sure which pattern but i do have a few in mind.
I also bought 2 skeins of Koigu KPPPM
The color of these are just so awesome i had to buy them, I love me some variegated prettiness!
I wish i took more photos of the yarn store and of Lelah and I, but i always think of this shit after the fact, DUH!
On another Duh note i had my company "Holiday" party last night. I have 0 pictures from it because i didn't bring my camera, hopefully someone has some pictures from the night that i will post (after i steal them)
It was at the Imperia in Somerset (for those of you in my area), we had it at the same place last year. It was a good time - and they had a photo booth!
I have been seriously slacking with my knitting so hopefully soon i will get back into the swing of things and have some updates on what I'm working on.

Struan
I finished Sam's hat!
Pattern: Struan by Ysolda Teague [Rav Link]
I must say that i am VERY happy with the way it turned out.
As i mentioned before, i ran out of yarn for this hat. The yarn i thought would work wasn't even close in color but it was the same weight and you cant see it because its on the inside - but when i seemed it up you can kind of see the other color poke out the front, but whatever.
I used Sublime - cashmere merino silk aran
As you can see below I was only short 4 rows....4 ROWS.
I didn't block the hat because frankly i have no idea how i would do it and i figured it would kind of block itself after being worn. Since its a hat i don't know if you lay it flat and pin it ( that seems dumb) or put it over something - that would then mean id have to find something to put it on.
So in short i was happy enough to let it be.
I want to make one for myself but i have come to realize the only way for me to actually finish a project is to make it for someone else. Example - Ive been making myself a Thermal since 07 and probably haven't touched it since.
Hand knits for myself = 0% success rate
Hand knits for others = 100% success rate
I'm hoping to change this.
Enjoy the hat Sam!
